Review at http://psychedelicfolk.homestead.com/minstrels2.html Contact : jesse@coloursandsoundsounds.freeserve.co.uk * Cut&Paste R. Kinski Spiral : Hymns and Fragments (USA,2001)** Folkpsych pop like Stormclouds. Did sound best with headphones. After second listen in stereophonic sound I liked it less as before. (I played this before). Review : http://psychedelicfolk.homestead.com/Psychfolkpopreview.html * Private Red Morning Chorus : demo (USA,2002)***°/**** Tr.1, "Untill the Sea Floweth in your veins" Tr.2, "Psychologically ultimate Seashore" Tr.4, "Nun Zirade" Tr.5, "Dawn at new hope" Tr.7, "Children of new thunder" Tr.8,9, "Medicine Wheel" 19 min Beautiful dreamy psych folk with small trance textures/electronic tape sounds in between the songs. Wonderful to listen to from beginning till the end. Similarity in style with Fit & Limo. Review at http://psychedelicfolk.homestead.com/acidfolkreview.html Contact : peepthesky@yahoo.com * Private Monster Island : Dream Tiger (US,2001)** Little bit childish in spiritual context. Psych folk pop in style with some 80's influence in it. (I played this item before). Review at http://psychedelicfolk.homestead.com/acidfolkreview.html 30 PART 2 : Arabian/Indian Fusions : IN THE LABYRINTH * Record Heaven In The Labyrinth : Dryad (S,2002)***°/**** Tr.1, "Lost in the Woods" 3 min Tr.6, "Trident" 6 min Tr.7, "Jabberwocky" 3 min 12 42 Wonderful enjoyable progressive with Persian and Indian instruments included, arrangements in a combination of world music fusion, classically inspired, progressive fusion. All tracks fit perfectly within one another. No weak moments. A shame "Jabberwocky" end too abruptly : fantastic middle eastern progressive. * Record Heaven In The Labyrinth : Walking on Clouds (S,1999)***' Tr.1, "Kali" 7 min Tr.7, "Dervish Dreams" 7 min 14 56 Very similar in style as "Dryad". Original approach of Indian/Persian influences. * Ad Perp.Mem. In The Labyrinth : The Garden of Mysteries (S,1996)*** Tr.1, "Fates of Andorra" 4 min 60 Slightly more Gothic in the vein of Dead Can Dance inspired, very filmic music with chamber music instruments. Review : http://psychevanhetfolk.homestead.com/WORLD.html * Triple Muse Rec. Sylvia Brallier : Awakening the Sacred Fire (US,2000)** Tr.3, "Eros and Aphrodite" 6 min 66 Also in DCD vein (with more ethnic vibe in percussion) Review at http://psychevanhetfolk.homestead.com/WICCAREVIEW.html * Disky (Harvey Summers) : Ayurveda (UK?,2000)**°° Tr.2, "Vata" (fragment more or less 455) 5 min Very well done, complex rhytms, working out for an album which came with a book. I expected a rather dull sampled New Age album. But this was more interesting. * Private Soolaba : Indian Valley (AUSTR,1999)*** Tr.2, "Indian valley" 6 min Tr.3, "Raga in E" 8 min 14 Indian Valley: "fusion of contempory Australian music(English vocals and double- bass) with Indian music (sitar & tabla)", or an eastern flavoured pop song with Sitar, Indian percussion and double bass. Nice Indian World Fusion. The ragas (sitar, percussion, flute) and the song stand out. A very nice CD. They succeed, professionally, to compile different genres / rhythms with one consistent mood. Review : http://psychevanhetfolk.homestead.com/WORLD.html * Voiceprint Harry Williamson and friends : Life in the world unseen (AUSTR,2000)**** Tr.1,2 "Highland Suite 1,2" 11 min Beautiful folk fusion item.
