2. Eastern influences in new items :

A. LAMP OF THE UNIVERSE :
- Rather simply played floating (folk) psych with sitar,.. a bit like 
the Swedish Adam and his related groups.

B. ORIENT SQUEEZERS : 
- Very consistent CD. Oriental themes and melodies with middle eastern 
percussion, sitar,..great. Similarities with In The Labyrinth's latest releases.
I especially like Hahan's electric guitar playing oriental and middle eastern 
melodies. I especially picked out those tracks with guitar.

On the second album there are bit more experimental still somewhat oriental 
samples/rhythms/loops added. Basically this album is still as good. It's more a 
(dance and chill-out associated) eastern jungle music, with still the complexity 
of a small ensemble. First tracks are like mentioned. "Cosmic Dancer" has a bit 
more stuffed complexity. "Kulfi" has a Beatlesque sitar playing on an smoothly 
beat. One repeated loop as extra instrument gives an extra African touch at the 
for the rest still middle eastern "Garuda". Beautiful are the use of the samples 
(voices, singing) with a gamelan like instrument at "Rambutan" -here a bit like 
Musci & Venosta's approach of world music sampling. It's an album that needed a 
bit more time for me before I realised how I could get a grip upon it. But after 
a few times carefully listening I am convinced it is as nice.

First time I heard the third album comparing with the first I believed the music 
was to be considered as basically improvising on a middle eastern flavoured 
melodic complexity. It is true the rhythms and layers of melodies are a bit more 
complex on this album. Again I liked the magnificent electric guitar work on 
some tracks, "Kadesh" and "Maheswar". I wondered how he would make an electric 
guitar based work, or a duo with Erkin Koray or something. My imagination went 
loose on this. Rhythmically more up tempo comparing the two former releases.
