One of the more accessible RIO related items. In an individual style, but also with 'Art Bears' elements. Review and links : http://progressive.homestead.com/prog3.html * Luna Negra Banda Elástica : Ai Tencargo (MEX,2003)*** Tr.5, "Tres Piezas (in memoriam L.J.)"part 2,3 2+4 min 6 Good mixture of mostly RIO/contemporary music/(more free styled)Jazz fusion item with experimental folk and other influences. Sometimes more accessible (jazzfusion like), sometimes less (contemporary music like). The second track I find brilliant in a combination with even some Indian elements. A possible future classic ! A bit too melodically composed neo-symphonic. * Private Angulart : demo (CHI,2001)** OK song progressive rock with symphonic touches. Because of less quality of send MP3's I preferred not to play it. However the second track was chosen. Good symphonic prog rock. A group with a young sound. Good. V.A.: Voodoo Crossing, a tribute to Jimi Hendrix (var.2003)**** Tr.2, Scott Finch : "Castles made of Sand" 5 min Tr.3, Robben Ford : "Message to love" 5 min Tr.6, Alessio Menconi : "Manic Depression" 5 min Tr.8, Vic Vergeat : "If 6 was 9" 4 min Tr.10,Hiram Bullock : "Voodoo Chile" 8 min Tr.11,Tony Spinner : "Up from the skies" 6 min Tr.13,Pat Travers : "I don't live today" 5 min Tr.14,Mike Onesko : "Hey Joe" 6 min 45 -125- Very good compilation with different approaches and adaptations of Jimi Hendrix guitar style. Not much psych effects, but more powerful (funky) (bluespsych)rock (like these 3 tracks) & R&B mostly. More than interesting, very enjoyable ! These were my favourite tracks to stand out after various listens. All these chosen tracks are splendid in some way or another. A remarkable tribute album ! Review at http://progressive.homestead.com/prog4.html * Private Erkin Koray : Mechul '70 ending of live in Nazilli,'74 4+1= 5 min -130- If management would have been the same as in UK, Turkish Erkin Koray would have had the status of Jimmy Hendrix. These two tracks prove something. After the highlighting '74 the Hendrix like psych guitar slowed down a bit and different arrangements were done. Bluespsych jamming with Father Yod in memory. Sad some of the recordings don't have such a good quality, but some of the psych style still is there, especially in some tracks. Especially the last one goes complete out of the mind.. (with influence from "The End" from The Doors).
