Tr.4, “Lucifer’s Bride” 6 min (shortened) 18 -34 Improvised psychedelic jam with some variety in each track. “Obeah Man” is a kind of loose hippie-jam, while the title-track is psych-rockier. Review : http://progressive.homestead.com/prog10.html#anchor_142 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- part 2 : Elend * Prophecy Elend : Sunwar the Dead (AUS/F,2004)****° Tr.5, “The hemlock Sea” 6 min Tr.6, “La terre n’aime pas le sang” 6 min Tr.7, «A song of Ashes» 7 min Tr.8, “Lacertation” 5 min Tr.9, “Poliorketika” 5 min 29 134 Well recorded mixture of partly some Dead Can Dance reference with orchestra and choir with a filmic story like tension, and a few contemporary classical music ideas like in track 6,7 and 9. “The Hemlock Sea” has very resonating dark bass and a spherical, swollen background. It is an improvement to use a real orchestra and choir, although earlier albums like “Les Ténèbres du dehors” had its own uniqueness. I choose some powerful and unique part of the album. Review : http://psychevanhetfolk.homestead.com/Dark.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Fear Dark Kekal : Acidity (IND,2005)**° Tr.8, “romantika destruksi” 3 min 137 Very individualistic group with metal, progpop, atmospheric parts, etc. It’s more consistent in style than the previous album, but I think that previous album was adventurous while this isn’t so. Review : http://progressive.homestead.com/INDOREVIEWS.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Cuneiform Rec. Miriodor : Parade + live at nearfest (CAN,2005+2002)**** CD1 : Tr.9, “Checkpoint Charlie” 4 min 141 First CD is rather calm RIO somewhat influenced by Samlas Mammas Manna. I choose the experimental track because it fitted best with the radioshow. Bonus cd is a well recorded and very good live performance. More will be airplayed in a future radioshow. Review : http://progressive.homestead.com/prog3.html#anchor_58 * Cuneiform Rec.Present : A great Inhumaine adventure (B,2005)**° Review : http://progressive.homestead.com/belgium2.html (will be finished soon) * Cuneiform Rec. Radio Massacre International : emissaries (UK,rec.2004,2005)**° Tr.5, “The Ice Garden” 3 min (fragment) Tr.6, “A promise of salvation” 3 min 6 147 Improvisational electronic music group. Review : http://progressive.homestead.com/prog15.html#anchor_150 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Temp.Res. Cerberus Shoal : ..and farewell to hightide (US,1996)***’? Tr.4, “Make Winter a driving song” : rest of show. Early work of Cerberus Shoal which is with more amplified guitars improvisations lead. This is driven by drums, guitars, trumpet improvisation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Other playlists : http://psychevanhetfolk.homestead.com/2005.html General index page : www.radiocentraal.be/psychevanhetfolk More detailed index page : http://psychevanhetfolk.homestead.com/index.html Receive weekly this playlist before the radioshow happens and with additional linked audio, with updates of new reviews and with additional comments : Subscribe : psychevanhetfolk-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
