Playlist "Psyche van het Folk", Radio Centraal, Antwerpen, Belgium CLASSIC SPANNISH PROGRESSIVE MUSIC * PDI Various artists : "El Nacimiento del rock en Andalucia" (SP,1978)**° Tr.12, Gualberto : "A weird wedding song" 5 min Tr.13, Gualberto : "The birth of spring" 5 min 10 (Tr.4, Gualberto & Yessica : "I feel tired" 3 min) not played Compilation with Smash, Gong, Nuevos Tempos, early Gualberto & unreleased 1st LP by Gualberto. The track with Yessica has fine guitar, beautiful second vocals. A bit like Sallyangie in mood, the only track like this. A weird wedding song starts like what seems sitar and koto. With a weird mood and story in vocals. Not all tracks on the album are as interesting, but it's an interesting document in historical perspective. Both first tracks were left out for time limitations. Classical music with a septet with flamenco impact. With some acoustic guitar too. Not directly my cup of tea at first listen. I have to check this again later. * Fonomusic Lluis Llach : Viatge a Ithaca (SP,1975)***° (Tr.3, "Escriu-me aviat" 5 min) not played Singer-songwriter with folk progressive and classical arranged accompaniment. Side two is more enjoyable for those not understanding Spanish. Enjoyable voice. Voice reminds me for some reasons at Sisa. For shortage in time it will be used in a next radioshow). Luar Na Lubre : Cabo Do Mundo (SP,1999)**? Tr.2, "Chove En Santiago" 5 min 19 Nice folkpop track. Album itself has celtic influences. I kept it for this track ; I will have to take more time for the rest. With fusion prog band, use of keyboards like some mellotron (with acoustic flamenco fusion guitars) on track 3. I decided to play the complete first side, which is splendid. One track is with folk influences (pipes), one with contemporary classical music & pipes. It's still good music but it might need time. I prefer the other album. * Sony Music Iman, Califato independiente (SP,1978)***? Tr.3, "Cerro Allegre" 8 min 48 Flamenco Prog Fusion. Still needs a few more listens for me. Crack : Si Todo Hiciera (SP,1978)***°/**** Tr.2, "Amantes de la irrealidad" 5 min Tr.5, "Marchando una del Cid part 1" 8 min 13 80 Supposed to be one of the more interesting prog rock examples from Spain. Los Brincos : World Devil Body (SP,1970)***°? Tr.1, "Mundo, Demonio Y Carne (World, Devil And Body)" (316->end) 10 min 90 There are very good tracks on this item.
